So when David heard that Nabal was dead, he said, Blessed be the Lord, who has pleaded the cause of my reproach from the hand of Nabal, and has kept His servant from evil! For the Lord has […]

  • Psalm 75:6-7 NKJV

For exaltation comes neither from the east Nor from the west nor from the south. But God is the Judge: He puts down one, And exalts another.

I have been taught to work hard and at the right […]

  • 1 Samuel 24:5-6 NKJV

  • ThumbnailOver the years, I have had difficulties with church leaders.
Some have treated me with disrespect, some have lied to me, others have gone behind my back to cause me harm. I have also had troubles with secular […]

Update 08/31/09: See a related article here.
I hear a lot of people speak about things that happen “by coincidence.” Personally, I do not accept anything as being coincidental. Instead, I believe that it is God’s […]

On the 15th of May, 2011,  I was honored to conduct the wedding ceremony for my youngest daughter,  Katrina.
I love my new son-in-law and consider him to be my newest son.  But I did give him some words of […]

The “Notes From The Valley” for this week come from Colossians, Chapter 3. I like to call it “God’s Dress Code.” The great things about this wardrobe are:

everything’s already picked out (no […]

  • Have you ever grinded the gears in a manual transmission? You know that sound that it makes just appears as though you have done something wrong to the transmission. Well, all of us know that life sometimes can be a grind. So what do you do when all it seems like you keep doing is [...]

  • ThumbnailRecently, I met two men whom I have named “The Brothers Malaprop.” These two are continually recounting stories that happened to a friend of theirs from back in Mississippi. The friend has made lot of money, even though he is not well educated. The stories are all about this friend’s “habit of misusing words ridiculously, especially by [...]

  • ThumbnailEver heard the phrase, “You can’t get there from here?” Well, although it is possible, Google Maps (step 10) suggests that the trip from “China” to “Taiwan” is going to be pretty difficult. Try it yourself.  Visit maps.google.com and enter “Dongjing Dao, Fujian, China to Bali District, Taiwan” (without quotes) into the search box and hit…[Read more]

  • Read Your Bible Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path. Psalms 119:105 Life can get hectic at times. Things seem to blend into one another and before you realize it, a month has gone by and you have not spent time with the Lord. The devil tries to get us [...]

  • Jesus had just finished praying in the Garden and the next words recorded (Luke 22:31-32) to Peter are a warning and an encouragement. Jesus told Peter that Satan wanted to destroy him, but that Jesus had prayed for him. Here’s a thought. Could it be at the same time that God is working on us [...]

I don’t know, but I got a little irritated today. One of my coworkers who happens to be a friend of mine goes to church, professes to love God, but uses profanity a lot. I have tried talking to her about it, however I feel like I am talking to dead air. Help?

    • Sorry for not responding earlier, Kim.
It is difficult to “correct” others. The only way it can be done is when the Holy Spirit moves upon us and we speak in LOVE. It is HE that enables any of us to “clean up our act.”
